Your Impact
As a Business Systems Analyst & Data Engineer, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions across Cisco’s supply chain domain. You will design, build, and optimize secure, scalable data pipelines, translate complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications, and empower analytics initiatives that drive efficiency and innovation. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, drive operational improvements, and support self-service analytics. Success in this role means delivering reliable data products, fostering clear communication between business and technical teams, and continuously learning and adapting in a fast-evolving technology landscape.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with supply chain stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements focused on planning and operations.
+ Translate business needs into clear technical requirements for data engineering and analytics teams.
+ Design, develop, and maintain reliable ELT/ETL pipelines in **Snowflake** to support analytics and operational workloads.
+ Integrate data from upstream systems (e.g., **Oracle ERP, Teradat** a) into curated data models and products.
+ Implement robust **SQL and PL/SQL** transformations, query optimization, and storage tuning.
+ Orchestrate and monitor batch workloads and workflows using tools like Control-M; ensure data quality and SLAs with **tools such as Bigeye.**
+ Define and implement normalized and **dimensional data models;** document data lineage, metadata, and governance.
+ Enforce security and DevSecOps best practices, including access controls and secrets management.
+ Support development and maintenance of **Tableau dashboards** and other visualization tools; validate business metrics and promote self-service analytics.
+ **Apply AI/ML concepts** pragmatically to data engineering use cases, focusing on enrichment, classification, and automation.
+ Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
+ Document business processes, data flows, requirements, and technical solutions for transparency and governance.
+ Participate in Agile ceremonies, refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver features end-to-end from design through deployment.
+ Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines; own incident resolution and root-cause analysis.
+ Stay informed on supply chain trends, data analytics best practices, and emerging technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
+ **5–8 years of experience** working with **SQL development** and relational databases ( **Snowflake, Oracle, Teradata)** .
+ Proficiency in building and **optimizing data pipelines** , ELT/ETL processes, and integrating multi-source data for analytics.
+ Experience working with **Tableau/Power BI or similar visualization tools** .
+ Solid understanding of supply chain planning, sourcing, and related business processes.
+ Familiarity with **data warehousing principles** , data modeling techniques, and **Agile methodologies.**
+ **Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD methodologies, and cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure).**
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
+ Excellent communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Self-motivated; works independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in Data Science or related field, or relevant certifications (Snowflake, AWS/Azure/Oracle, AI/ML, Oracle ERP).
+ Experience with RPA technologies and programming languages such as Python (Golang/Node.js a plus).
+ Data science, architecture diagram experience, and exposure to AI/ML in analytics.
+ Knowledge of security, governance, and version control (e.g., Git).
+ Proven ability to adapt and learn in a fast-changing environment.
+ Supports and mentors less experienced colleagues.

The starting salary range posted for this position is $126,500.00 to $182,000.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.
Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
+ 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees
+ 1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco
+ Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees
+ Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
+ 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
+ Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
+ Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
+ .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
+ 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
+ 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
+ Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below:
New York City Metro Area:
$152,500.00 - $252,000.00
Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:
$135,800.00 - $224,400.00
* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco’s sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
