    Job Summary

    The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan solicits applications for a full time Lecturer III position with an anticipated start date of August 25, 2026. This is a non-tenure track position with a university year appointment (i.e., runs August 25 through May 24 each year). A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a Lecturer III in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts is three (3) courses per semester, or the equivalent in administrative and/or service duties. The initial appointment period will be four (4) years and the appointment may be renewed (based on programmatic need, funding, and performance). The appointment is subject to final approval by the college.

    Responsibilities*

    Duties and responsibilities for this Lecturer III position are expected to include teaching laboratory courses in biology, lecture courses in appropriate areas of expertise, training of graduate student instructors, service on departmental committees and participation in outreach activities supporting K-12 programs.

    Required Qualifications*

    Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D. and be expected to provide instruction to both undergraduate and graduate students. Ideal candidates either have (1) subject matter expertise and teaching experience in Animal Physiology or (2) general Cell/Molecular Biology expertise and experience with supervising large-enrollment laboratory courses.     Desired Qualifications*

    Highly qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in a life science discipline, evidence of excellence in classroom and/or laboratory teaching, and extensive coursework in one or more of the target areas listed above. Excellence in teaching and instructional service will be a criteria used to select the successful candidate.
