This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
This position is responsible for administering and overseeing the regional workers’ compensation program to ensure compliance with Minnesota state workers’ compensation statutes; remain within the parameters of and in compliance with all applicable state, federal and DOT laws, rules, MnDOT Workers’ Compensation Policy, statewide policies, guidelines and contracts in order to mitigate agency financial impact.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of professional experience in the following areas:
+ Experience with MN Workers’ Compensation Laws and Rules (e.g., MS §§ 176.001 - 176.862) sufficient to.apply best practices in claims management and facilitate early return-to-work strategies;
+ Experience reviewing and summarizing medical documentation (e.g., Physician's Reports, Independent Medical Examination (IME) findings, treatment plans) sufficient to assess claim compensability and support effective case management within the context of Minnesota Workers’ Compensation;
+ Experience interpreting and applying findings from judicial orders and settlement agreements (e.g., Findings and Orders or Stipulations for Settlement) within the framework of Minnesota Workers’ Compensation, sufficient to effectively administer claims and advise stakeholders;
+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent software, sufficient to manage data in spreadsheets (e.g., pivot tables, formulas) and draft official correspondence/reports;
+ Experience with basic math sufficient to conduct calculations related to benefit eligibility and payment coordination.
