    JOB SUMMARY

    The Senior Director, Commercial Brand Performance drives cross-functional efforts to maximize Topline performance across Marriott International’s portfolio of new and emerging brands, with an initial focus on Midscale and Outdoor Collection brands.

     

    This role is critical in shaping and evolving commercial strategies, accelerating revenue through innovative and existing approaches, and ensuring seamless integration of new brands. This role will have responsibility to deliver Commercial Performance through ongoing management and driving cross functional efforts across all Commercial areas (Group & Transient) within the US & Canada and HQ teams. Responsibilities include ongoing RevPar and scorecard management, leveraging data and analytics to meet performance targets, aligning Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Digital strategies and associated tactical delivery to acquire/reach the right customers both within and beyond Marriott’s ecosystem.

     

    The position partners closely with the Continent Lodging Product team on brand growth and sustainment strategies, and with Owner Franchise Services to ensure Topline strategies align with operational models for new and non-traditional lodging products. Collaboration with commercial discipline leaders, owners, and external partners is essential to deliver financial performance and accelerate portfolio growth.

     

    Education and Experience

    Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree in Business or related area preferred.

    • 10+ years’ experience in the hospitality industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and exceptional performance.

    • Previous hotel industry experience required

    Preferred

    • External experience in multiple revenue streams and portfolio offerings, with a strong preference for midscale, outdoor collection brands, or similar brands preferably

    • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity

    • Experience evaluating business trends and successfully implementing programs and strategies to enhance multi-unit business performance, with ability to solve problems quickly, think strategically, and use data to drive decisions.

    • Proven experience as driven cross-functional leader and change agent

    CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

    • Lead cross-functional integration of new and emerging brands, especially midscale and outdoor collection brands ensuring seamless onboarding and activation.

    • Drive revenue and financial performance by setting and executing strategies in partnership with discipline leaders.

    • Commercial Integration: “Turn on” new brands in all competing booking environments, enable OTA participation, and optimize pricing for intermediaries and consortia.

    • Activate and optimize account-based sales channels for new brands, ensuring systems and processes support lead generation and conversion.

    • Develop and implement portfolio positioning and growth strategies to maximize market penetration and profitability.

    • Champion transformation and change efforts to support performance and strategic initiatives across the portfolio.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, partners, and key stakeholders to support business goals and performance expectations.

    • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, financial statements, and market trends to inform strategy and drive continuous improvement.

    • Communicate strategy updates and business goals effectively to discipline leaders and teams, ensuring alignment and engagement.

    • Customer Acquisition: Attend key trade shows, secure strategic partners, and suggest/influence targeted commercial approaches.

    • Drive accountability: Report performance milestones, monitor progress on actions, and escalate support needs as required.

    • Leverage external experience and insights from midscale, outdoor collection brands, or comparable brand environments to drive innovation and best practices across the portfolio.

    • Prepare topline materials for owner/stakeholder conversations, partnering with respective disciplines as appropriate
