Key Responsibilities:
The AOG Operations Manager oversees 24/7 Logistical Operations Center to ensure timely processing of AOG material requests. The manager will supervise personnel in planning, scheduling and assignment of group workloads. Management of logistics effort in support of AOG grounded aircraft utilizing company inventories in excess of $1.8B. Provide parts support effort for aircraft MEL/Placard/DF/CF recovery activities as well as handle purchasing of AOG material. The manager will manage loan and accommodation sales of company assets to other airlines and borrowing of aircraft parts from other airlines. Manage leasing of high dollar aircraft parts from OEM, Boeing, Goodrich, etc. to support OOS aircraft. Supervise air charter logistics activities to support OOS aircraft, materials/mechanics. This would include narrow/wide body international engine movement. The manager will also support GeM Missions and provide AOG Tooling movement and tracking. Provide other departments with the data necessary to perform root cause analysis on events affecting dispatch reliability. Responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable working environment through timely and effective communication, with emphasis on Dignity and Respect.
Loans, Borrows and Accommodation Sale function:
+ Schedules borrowed part removals, and works closely with the line stations to ensure manpower availability
+ Coordinates with Engineering, Inventory Planning and Boeing Technical Support to determine correct part (s) needed for borrow removal and determines best method of obtaining parts
+ Purchase aircraft parts from approved sources, including other airlines and aircraft parts brokers at the best overall cost to the company to support borrowed parts removals
+ Initializes non-routine log pages to track the borrow removal. (Special access required from Q.C)
+ Processes Accommodation Sales Requests
+ Ensures proper parts certification and works with Q.C
+ Supervisors to work out regulatory issues
+ Converts borrowed parts from other airlines both locally and internationally into a purchase or R.I.K. (Return in Kind) to avoid grounding aircraft due to minimum ground time
+ Works closely with the parts Pooling Administrator to evaluate pooling opportunities versus borrowed parts costs
+ Initializes and deletes serial numbers in the SCEPTRE data base as necessary (Special access required from Q.C.)
+ Works closely with the Repair and Modification Group / Internal Repair Shops to expedite parts required to effect the removal of costly borrowed parts
+ Works closely with A/C Records to ensure borrowed serial number numbers are tracked properly in SCEPTRE
+ Works closely with Controllers Group on discrepancies regarding loans/borrows/sales
+ Ensures the accuracy and appropriate aircraft effectivity to support borrowed parts removals by researching part numbers using IPC's (Illustrated Parts Catalogs)
+ Monitors AOG desk compliance with established Pooling agreements
+ Performs all the duties of the AOG job function as required
+ Maximize Loan revenue generation for United, while ensuring UAL’s Service Level targets are maintained throughout the Loans process
+ Ensure root cause analysis/trends driving borrows is accomplished to reduce potential for future AOG events
+ Develops and maintains strong airline and supplier relationships
+ Manage the logistics effort in support of AOG A/C and Placard/MEL/DF/CF recovery activities and Loans, Borrows and Accommodation Sales **Team Leadership**
+ Oversee all aspects of the operational support – i.e., develop work & bid schedule, attendance and vacation
+ Personnel Mgt. and Training of team members to ensure a high degree of performance and inter departmental cooperation while working in a high stress environment with real time constraints
+ Provide management oversight and direction of the Loans, Borrows and Accommodation Sales department and support implementation of strategic AOG initiatives
+ Business Services (Loan revenue generation, borrows cost reduction and inventory ownership alternatives alliances
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
+ Associate degree or related experience
+ Minimum 7-10 job experience in airline or logistics industry
+ Must maintain daily liaise with Line Maintenance operational groups – i.e., Maintenance Control, Line Maintenance, Engineering, Warehousing, Internal & OSV shops, OPS Director, Quality Control, Tooling, etc
+ Strong Communication Skills
+ Experience managing a team
+ Focusing and guiding others in accomplishing work objectives
+ Ability to work weekends and holidays
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

+ Bachelor's degree or related experience
+ Experience with query-language or other programming languages (SQL, Python,etc)
+ Strong operations and analytics skills
The base pay range for this role is $102,220.00 to $133,194.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
