Job Summary and Qualifications

The role of the Sterile Processing Manager is to ensure that quality care is followed per policy and procedure in the Central Sterilizing Department.

Must have working knowledge of Standards for all types of sterilization equipment, sonic cleaners, and washer sterilizers.

Oversight of the CST functions including appropriate decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, processing, packaging, and quality checks for cleanliness, rust, or needed repairs of instruments in Central Sterile.

Assist with stocking all supplies and maintaining PAR levels.

Must be knowledgeable of all policies and procedures for processing, packaging, and delivering sterilized equipment to multiple departments including, Family Birthing Center, Radiology, Cath Lab, EP Lab, Respiratory Therapy, Emergency Department, and any other indicated departments.

Quality performance and maintenance of logs for all biological and chemical monitoring of various types of sterilizers to include, steam, ETO, Steris, and Sterrad.

What qualifications you will need:

**Education:** Associate Degree preferred.

**Licensure/Certifications:** Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician with CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or Certified Central Service Technician with IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) preferred.

**Experience:** Minimum of three years as a sterile processing technician. Previous lead or supervisor experience strongly preferred. Specific knowledge related to medical supplies, medical equipment, surgical instruments, and sterile/aseptic technique is required. Must possess good interpersonal, problem solving and team building skills.
