How will you make an impact in this role?
The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (GRC) is an independent risk management function, led by the Chief Risk Officer, with the objective of ensuring that American Express operates in a safe, sound and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. GRC creates and maintain the overall risk management framework, performs independent risk management assessment, and monitor risks.
The Director Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the Technical Risk Management (TRM) organization by contributing to overall business planning, team management and strategic development. The role will also entail significant relationship management with the organization’s Leadership Team and other key Blue Box stakeholders globally.
The Director Assistant is an integral part of the Technical Risk Management Leadership Team and will report directly to the SVP, Technical Risk Management.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Strong business acumen and strategic thinking with the ability to translate high level goals into actionable plans and track progress across team.
+ Coordinate, build, and contribute to impactful and engaging presentations and activities such as leadership presentations, strategic projects, town halls, and business unit review presentations.
+ Coordinate and drive cross-functional initiatives to ensure alignment and timely execution.
+ Manage stakeholders/relationships both within GRC and across all lines of business (GRC, Technologies, CEG, etc) to drive consistent execution of GRC long term priorities.
+ Maintain, track and oversee TRM budget management, including operational expenses, T&E and headcount.
+ Find opportunities to improve processes and performance across the organization.
+ Continue to refine and develop programs for colleagues throughout the TRM organization.
+ Demonstrate personal accountability and lead people with passion, enthusiasm, and integrity
Minimum Qualifications:
+ 5 years of previous experience in technology preferred.
+ Highly motivated self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, excellent organization skills and careful attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously and with highly sensitive and confidential material.
+ Proven flexibility when faced with changing priorities.
+ Capability to keep teams aligned and on target, while re-evaluating importance and urgency relative to moving demands.
+ Have exemplary written and verbal communication skills, including strong Microsoft office skills including PowerPoint and Excel.
+ Ability to learn quickly, work optimally with little direction, and be willing to take the lead where appropriate.
+ Proven track record to establish relationships, collaborate across functions and band levels, manage stakeholders, influence decisions and get results.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
