As a Pharmacy Technician in the Operating Room, you will support Cleveland Clinic's inpatient pharmacy operations that serve 60 nursing units, 80 operating rooms, 4 PACUs, and 10 cath labs across more than 1,440 inpatient beds. In this inpatient-focused role, you will primarily support the operating rooms by completing controlled and non-controlled substance medication replenishments, managing medication inventory, monitoring expiration dates, and performing quarterly nursing unit inspections. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and timely medication availability to support surgical and perioperative care teams.
Caregivers in this role will work 2nd shift from 2:00pm to 10:30pm with no weekend requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
+ Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
+ Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
+ Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
+ Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National HealthCareer Association (NHA)
+ Active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee
+ **Please note:** Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
+ 6 months of hospital experience

+ Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $19.25
Maximum hourly: $28.00
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
