Job Title: Cook** **Job Description

As a cook, you will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. You will ensure high-quality food service by adhering to all applicable federal, state, and corporate standards.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and cook to order foods that may require short preparation time.

+ Serve customers at an a la carte station and operate a grill station.

+ Read food orders or receive verbal instructions and prepare food accordingly.

+ Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.

+ Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various foodstuffs.

+ Operate kitchen equipment to measure, mix ingredients, and prepare foods under supervision.

+ Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production requirements.

+ Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment, adhering to all rules and procedures.

+ Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training sessions.

+ Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures.

+ Report all accidents and injuries promptly.

+ Participate in regular safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.

+ Receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs, and prepare meals for special diets.

+ Produce some batch goods using basic cooking techniques.

Essential Skills

+ Proficient in food preparation and cooking techniques.

+ Ability to follow recipes and product directions.

+ Strong customer service skills.

+ Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.

+ Familiarity with HACCP policies and food safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is advantageous.

+ Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Work Environment

Work in a hospital setting, primarily indoors, with occasional supervision of outside activities and events. The schedule may include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camp Hill, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
