About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled **Lead CNC Machinist** to join a precision-driven manufacturing team supporting industries such as aerospace, medical devices, and automotive. This role is perfect for a senior machinist who is passionate about complex programming, high-end equipment, and mentoring others—all within a growing, engineering‑focused environment.
You’ll program, set up, and operate advanced multi‑axis machines while collaborating closely with engineering and quoting teams to drive efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities
+ Program complex parts using **GibbsCAM** for multi‑axis CNC equipment
+ Set up and operate a variety of high-precision machines, including:
+ **HAAS UMC 500SS** (5‑axis high‑speed mill)
+ **Puma TT2100SYYB** (twin‑spindle, twin‑turret lathe with Y‑axis)
+ **Doosan LYNX 2100LSY** (sub‑spindle lathe with live tooling)
+ **CITIZEN Miyano BNE65MYY** (Swiss-style turning with dual Y‑axis)
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturability and support DFM initiatives
+ Participate in quoting by estimating run times from blueprints and CAD models
+ Perform first‑article inspections and maintain tight tolerances (±0.0002”)
+ Design custom fixtures, optimize tooling, and reduce setup/cycle times
+ Mentor and support junior machinists to elevate team performance
Required Skills & Experience
+ **8+ years of CNC machining experience** , including **3+ years in a lead role**
+ **Expert-level knowledge of 5‑axis and multi‑spindle/multi‑turret machines**
+ **Strong understanding of GD&T** , precision metrology, and blueprint reading
+ Experince in **aerospace, automotive, or medical device** production environments
+ Ability to work independently with strong ownership of quality and efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with **SolidWorks** or **AutoCAD** for model interpretation
+ Familiarity with ERP or quoting software
+ Lean manufacturing or **Six Sigma** training
+ OSHA or GD&T certifications

This is a Contract position based out of Jordan, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
