Job Title: R&D Engineer IIJob Description
This R&D role involves assisting in the development of the second-generation Carpal Tunnel Device planned for launch in Q1 of 2024. You will work alongside a lead engineer to ensure accurate and efficient results, focusing on design verification through tensile testing, compression testing, materials testing, and prototype testing, along with documenting these findings.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct design verification through tensile, compression, materials, and prototype testing.
+ Document test results and findings.
+ Engage hands-on with prototypes and contribute to continuous improvement using 3D printing.
+ Assist in other departments as needed, including line validation and supply chain.
+ Work mainly in the R&D lab, utilizing welding and microscopes.
+ Author documents and continuous improvement reports.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in medical device testing and prototyping.
+ Experience in validation documentation and design verification.
+ Proficiency in mechanical engineering and Solidworks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with 3D printing, tensile testing, Keyence, microscopes, welding, and molding.
+ Familiarity with line validation and balloon technologies.
Work Environment
The work environment is fully on-site within an R&D lab equipped with test equipment. The role offers the opportunity to be hands-on with a new medical device design, contributing significantly to its development. The company is on a strong growth trajectory, with plans to bring manufacturing in-house by 2025.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Eagan, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
