    Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to perform daily phlebotomy activities at our Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-office Phlebotomy (IOP). The role involves accurate and timely collection and processing of forensic and clinical specimens, while interacting professionally with clients, patients, and personnel.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.

    + Greet customers and ensure they are treated courteously.

    + Collect field phlebotomy and PSC specimens accurately and on time.

    + Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients clearly.

    + Reduce patient anxiety by maintaining a calm environment.

    + Dispose of biohazard fluids and tissue according to laws and standards.

    + Complete requisitions and enter patient, specimen, and billing information accurately.

    + Communicate with clients to verify orders and obtain accurate billing information.

    + Research test and client information using the lab computer system.

    + Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens for transport as required.

    + Store and maintain specimen samples according to protocol.

    + Maintain daily records, PSC/IOP logs, and assist with compiling monthly statistics.

    + Perform basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.

    + Submit accurate expense and travel logs and approve time in attendance software.

    + Adhere to grooming and dress code policies, maintaining a neat appearance.

    + Communicate effectively with coworkers and clients to promote a positive work environment.

    + Ensure facilities are clean and report maintenance issues as needed.

    + Participate in periodic inventory counts and report shortages.

    + Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure safety.

    + Exercise laboratory safety precautions and adhere to procedures.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in blood draw and venipuncture techniques.

    + Experience with geriatric and pediatric patient collections.

    + Phlebotomy certification.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with electronic data entry and basic clerical duties.

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    Work Environment

    This position is based out of the PSC in Bentonville, AR, Springdale, AR, or Fayetteville, AR. The role involves travel within a 2-hour radius, potentially crossing state lines, with mileage reimbursement beyond normal commute. Typical shifts are from 8 AM to 5 PM, though they may start as early as 7:30 AM if the clinic opens early. The position involves 3-45 blood draws per day, ranging from pediatric to hospice patients. Extended travel beyond 2 hours will have hotel and meal expenses covered. While no paid time off is provided, communication is key for emergencies or sick days. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to ensure safety.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bentonville, AR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
