Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join a local team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota on a part time basis. This contract position involves supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, as well as assisting with lease analysis and other accounting-related tasks. This is a part-time role averaging 28 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options during business hours Monday through Friday. Free on-site parking is available for employees.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts receivable by making collection calls, recording cash receipts, and processing billing adjustments.

• Perform tenant ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate financial documentation.

• Handle accounts payable tasks, including entering invoices and maintaining proper audit trails with supporting documentation.

• Conduct lease analysis by reviewing leases and ensuring accurate billing and calculations for additional charges.

• Maintain and organize sales information, collect reports, and input sales data into the accounting system.

• Support the property accountant with various tasks and assist in maintaining vendor files.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures in all assigned duties.

• Organize and manage records related to tenant and vendor accounts.

• Complete additional accounting or administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements • High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting preferred.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in a retail or real estate environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.

• Familiarity with real estate accounting software is a plus.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods while managing multiple tasks.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
