Jacobs is seeking an organized and motivated Junior Project Controls Professional to join our team in Davie, Florida. This is an onsite role, where you’ll play a key part in supporting project success from initial setup through ongoing monitoring of cost, schedule, and budget.
In this position, you will
* Maintain project ledgers, tracking budget line items, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
* Assist the operations team with project control tasks, ensuring accurate financial and schedule performance.
* Prepare project financial setup documents and provide weekly financial updates to Project Managers.
* Participate in monthly project reviews and help establish and maintain the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
* Conduct weekly financial reviews, identify discrepancies, and make necessary corrections.
* Monitor budgets against actual costs and forecasts for accurate cost tracking.
* Support subcontract management by preparing procurement forms, reviewing invoices, and tracking budgets and contract terms.
* Provide change management support, including maintaining project change logs.

* 3 - 5+ years of professional experience in the engineering consulting industry as a Project Controls professional, including setting up projects, managing budgets and schedules, and monitoring subcontracts.
* Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and practices.
* Strong computer skills, including:
* Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
* Working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
* A strong aptitude for learning and adapting quickly.
* Ability to analyze and solve a range of basic problems, evaluating possible solutions.
* Capacity to perform a variety of straightforward assignments with accuracy.
* High level of initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.
Ideally, you’ll also have
* Experience using EcoSys (IPCS) for project controls and reporting.
* Familiarity with various contract mechanisms (Time & Materials [T&M], Lump Sum, Cost Plus Fee, Unit Price/T&M).
* Previous experience reviewing client contracts, bid documents, and proposals.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to take direction, problem-solve, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
* Ability to work efficiently and willingness to occasionally work outside normal business hours.
* Enthusiasm for joining a collaborative and high-performing Project Controls team.
