    Accounts Receivable Coordinator

    Job Description

    In this role, you will be responsible for managing billing predominantly for non-student related services, such as residency programs where departments invoice customers for services rendered. You will also gain exposure to student billing through cross-training and will be part of the team handling inquiries from students.

    Responsibilities

    + Engage effectively with customers, including students, employees, and external parties, demonstrating strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

    + Reconcile accounts receivable aging with actual collections.

    + Record customer payments in the billing system.

    + Prepare daily cash bank deposits.

    + Process daily online bank deposits.

    + Generate student payment reports, bank and cash receipts reports, and other necessary reports.

    + Prepare monthly invoices and assist with student billing.

    + Aid in preparing monthly cash projections.

    + Record monthly journal entries in the general ledger.

    + Assist in monitoring past due account balances.

    + Support collection efforts through the preparation of correspondence.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + 1+ year of accounts receivable experience including keying cash and billing.

    + Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to create VLOOKUPs and basic formulas.

    + Strong skills in utilizing office tools and software such as scanners/copiers, MS Word, and MS Outlook.

    + Experience in accounting and reconciliation.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Ability to create pivot tables.

    + Strong follow-through and follow-up skills.

    Work Environment

    The position is fully onsite from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM and a one-hour lunch break. This role offers the potential to support a large local employer and may lead to a permanent position.

    This is a Contract position based out of Norfolk, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
