    Administrative Hearing Officer 1 (Adjudicator 2)

    The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented applicants to fill multiple Administrative Hearing Officer 1 positions in the UI Appeals Department.

    Essential Function and Responsibilities:

    + Conducts administrative hearings in which there is generally conflicting evidence to determine eligibility of claimants for unemployment insurance benefits.

    + Ensures all hearings are conducted fairly while safeguarding the legal rights of all parties.

    + Develops a hearing record and renders a written decision to all parties based on the competent evidence presented in the hearing.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

    + Completion of a law degree from an accredited college or university

    + Five years of experience rendering unemployment insurance claims determination, and interpreting and applying laws regarding program eligibility

    + Other relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis
