    The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Program Director for Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Finance (BMEF) to join our System Office’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) department. We’re looking for someone who has a deep understanding of the current business education environment in our state. If you are looking for an opportunity to lead CTE business and work with two established and successful student organizations that help shape the future of business in Colorado, this position may be for you!     Please note that CCCS System Office is closed from 12/24/2025 – 1/2/2026. We will be returning to the office on 1/5/2026. We will review applications once the position closes and will notify candidates of the status of their application around the second week of January.

     

    As the Program Director, you will work directly within the BMEF team, managing and supporting the Assistant Program directors of FBLA & DECA. You will support institutions with the development and management of quality secondary and post-secondary CTE programs, providing leadership and expertise in the development and coordination of CTE programming. The Program Director coordinates training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for CTE faculty and administrators and facilitates content committees for secondary and post-secondary faculty to develop standards for CTE programs. The person in this role promotes and implements strategic initiatives as outlined in the CCCS and Colorado CTE Strategic Plans.

    Duties include

    + Review and recommend CTE programs for revision and renewal based on high quality standards that relate to quality indicators such as program of study, work-based learning, and student leadership organizations.

    + Establish and maintain effective communication with CTE faculty and administrators at secondary and post-secondary institutions. Ensure an effective communication plan is in place for the CTE BMEF education field. This includes developing and sending regular email newsletters, ensuring all communication and partnership records are accurately maintained in the Contact Relationship Management (CRM) system, and updating the BMEF website.

    + Provide leadership in the field (schools, districts, teachers, etc.) in planning, developing, and updating standards, competencies, and curriculum, including the integration of academic standards where possible. Assist with the development of state and local advisory committees for secondary and post-secondary programs.

    + Facilitate the maintenance and development of common and aligned competencies in secondary and postsecondary education.

    + Participate in and develop professional development activities for the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education (CACTE) and the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Administrators (CACTA), Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Finance National Organizations, as well as facilitate or participate in statewide meetings of program-specific instructors and administrators.

     

    Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, related to a business area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.

    + Three years’ relevant experience such as Business educator, administrator, or post-secondary business education background.

    + Must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado career and technical education credential within one year of hire.

    + Utilize project management skills; develop project ideas with techniques used in project management including initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing.

    Work Location/Travel Expectations:

    + This position is located at CCCS System Office: 9101 E. Lowry Blvd., Denver, CO 80230.

    + Employee will be required to travel to in-state conferences including regional meetings and State Conferences. Employee may be required to stay overnight at a hotel during these conferences. Employee may be asked to assist at off-site state conferences for Career and Technical Student Organizations.

    + Employee may be requested to travel out of state to national conferences or meetings.

    + Alternative work arrangements, including flexible schedules and remote work may be available. All work must be completed in the state of Colorado.
