The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Full Stack Developer to join our System Office’s Applications Development team within our IT division. We are looking for someone who is excited to learn about our systems and can work with a diverse group of stakeholders. If you are looking for an introductory opportunity to work within a multi-system IT environment, this position may be for you! This position is term-limited and funded through6/30/2026.
Please note that CCCS System Office is closed from 12/24/2025 – 1/2/2026. We will be returning to the office on 1/5/2026. We will review applications after the position closes and will notify candidates of the status of their application the first week of January.
As the Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, documenting, reviewing, and testing complex functions, modules, and programs created in one or more designated programming languages. This position adheres to established policies and procedures, standards, and works with other team members on development techniques and standards. You will provide technical support and problem solving for a variety of application and technical issues, working closely with the Customer Support Team, other CCCS-IT teams, and other developers as required. The Full Stack Developer participates in project planning development by facilitating and tracking the definition of a project’s scope, goals, deliverables, tasks, risks, and resource requirements.
Duties include:
+ Frontend Development
+ Build and maintain user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).
+ Ensure responsive design across different devices and browsers.
+ Implement UI/UX designs provided by design team.
+ Debug and fix frontend issues reported by users or Quality Assurance.
+ Backend Development
+ Develop and maintain server-side applications using languages like Node.js, Python, Java, or C#.
+ Create and maintain RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
+ Write database queries and manage data models.
+ Implement basic authentication and authorization features:
+ Write SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
+ Perform basic query optimization tasks.
+ Ensure data integrity and security.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
+ Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university. Relevant education/experience in the appropriate technical and management areas may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
+ One year of experience with Web Technologies (for example: HTML, JavaScript, REACT, and CSS) and experience writing database queries (for example: Oracle PL/SQL/MSQL and GraphQL).

+ Extensive understanding of developing and deploying applications.
+ Understanding of programming languages such as Java, C#, PHP, PERL or Python.

+ Understanding of Java servers, such as Tomcat.
+ Familiarity with development tools (editors, debuggers, version control, bug tracking).
+ Ability to identify user needs and provide technical solutions.
+ Ability to interact well with a diverse campus population.
+ Good listening skills and excellent oral and written communication skills in technical and non-technical settings.
+ Good customer service skills, for both internal and external customers.

Work Location/Travel Expectations:
+ This position is located at CCCS-IT: 1059 Alton Way, Denver, CO 80230.
+ Daily schedules may fluctuate to accommodate organizational needs, deadlines and delivery of services.
+ Alternative work arrangements, including flexible schedules and remote work may be available. All work must be completed in the state of Colorado.
