    Job Title: Special Education Teacher

     

    Start Date: January 5th

     

    Contract Length: 20 weeks (through end of school year)

    Schedule:

    + Total Hours: 35 hours/week

     

    Grade Levels: K–12

     

    Setting: In-person

    Position Overview

    The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to students with special needs from kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires collaboration with general education staff to plan and implement individualized programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

    + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations

    + Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)

    + State Teacher Certification:

    + Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred)

    + Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred)

    + Standard Special Teaching (preferred)

    + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

    + Compliance with all professional standards of practice

    + Current CPR (if applicable)

    + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

    + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age

    Compensation

    + Local Pay Rate: $60/hour

    + Travel Weekly Pay: $2,800
