    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Perform necessary repairs and maintenance to the office and facility buildings to support safe and efficient operations.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    + General building maintenance and repairs

    + Painting, plumbing, and limited janitorial work

    + Low-voltage electrical work

    + Rack installation and repair

    + Dock and door maintenance

    + Welding and basic fabrication

    + Ammonia refrigeration system upkeep

    + Compliance with all US Foods and government safety guidelines when working on equipment, including Lockout/Tagout, placarding, required documentation, and maintaining a safe work environment

    + Responsibility for company tools and maintenance equipment, including inventory tracking, safe operation, proper storage, and security of the tool area

    + Maintain a basic personal tool set and toolbox; may purchase tools or supplies from local vendors when authorized to complete job duties

    + Willingness to work occasional nights, weekends, or be on-call as business needs require

    WORK SCHEDULE

    + **Monday – Friday**

    + **8:00 AM – 5:00 PM**

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education / Training:

    + High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    + Additional mechanical training or trade school education preferred

    Related Experience:

    + Minimum of six (6) months of prior mechanic or maintenance experience required

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    + Strong mechanical aptitude

    + Knowledge of equipment repair and operation

    + Experience with painting, plumbing, low-voltage electrical work, and welding

    + Ability to read and write legibly

    + Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision

    + Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Work is performed in office, warehouse, and dock environments and may include exposure to machinery, refrigeration systems, and varying temperatures.

    + 50–100 lbs: Occasionally

    + Over 100 lbs: Never

    Additional Physical Activities:

    + Push/Pull: Occasionally (boxes, pallet jack control arm, hand tools, drive units)

    + Climb/Balance: Occasionally (equipment, pallet jack, forklift, order selector)

    + Stoop/Squat: Frequently

    + Kneel/Bend: Occasionally

    + Bend: Frequently

    + Reach Above Shoulder: Occasionally

    + Grasp Objects: Frequently

    + Manipulate Objects: Frequently

    + Twist: Occasionally

     

    Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.

     

    The expected base rate for this role is $44.79 per hour.
