About the Program:
If you are looking for a career in patient care, consider applying to our Medical Assistant training program to become a certified clinical medical assistant (CCMA) at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital or Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital!
A MA works alongside providers, mainly in outpatient practices. They perform both administrative and clinical duties, such as welcoming patients, updating medical records, taking medical history, taking vitals, preparing patients for exams, assisting the provider during exams, collecting lab specimens and much more! MAs are essential part of our patient care team, helping patient feel at ease and serving as a link between patients and providers.
Our 10-week training program provides hands-on learning opportunities to train you with the required skills to perform as an MA. Each week consists of classroom instructor-led education, online assignments, and clinical rotations providing our students with a multi learning approach. Students will sit for their NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam following the course. Following completion of the training, students will be promoted from the Clinical Assistant role to a certified MA position at one of the Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital or Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital practices, based on department needs.
