    Day Shift and Rotational Shift Relief

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Responsible in management of the planned workload between shift crews and day shift personnel and rotation shift personnel. This role will be required to be the relief supervisor for Shift Team Leaders as needed for flex leave, vacancies, and other time off. Responsible for Unit Outage Manger duties when assigned. Works with regular guidance in own area of knowledge. Performs additional duties as assigned.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Ensure and promote a safe conscious work environment and in compliance with the collective bargaining agreements.

    + Assure proper operation of Colstrip Units 1 – 4, including regulatory compliance, environmental compliance, labor agreement compliance, and compliance of workers to Colstrip Power Plant procedures. Ensure units are operating within defined parameters. Perform Outage Manager, Shift Team Leader responsibilities and special projects when assigned.

    + Aid in assessing and handling emergency situations. Perform Incident Commander duties when necessary.

    + Schedule planned jobs to appropriate shift crew based on current workload and plant conditions. Manage, monitor, and verify jobs complete to ensure quality and timeliness in accordance to due dates and priorities. Provide support to Shift Team Leaders and act as a liaison between the shifts and day maintenance.

    + Maintain and coordinate inventory levels of operating chemicals and gases. Coordinate with vendors to maintain the inventories within operating ranges. Coordinate issuing of Shift Preventative Maintenance work orders.

    + Contribute, support, communicate and adhere to site-wide technical and business directions, including business plan, equipment strategies and other implemented reliability-based production processes and business rules. Communicate to appropriate Work Coordinator when work request priorities have been changed and planning/coordination support is needed to handle emergencies.

    + Solves a range of moderately complex operational problems or issues problems. Analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures

    + Builds knowledge of the organization processes, customers and has the ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change. Ability to make operational decisions with little input. Ability to think beyond own functional unit when solving problems.

    + Serve on Environmental, Apprentices and/or Safety committees as assigned.

    + Provide communications and reports to owners' Companies as requested.

    + Oversees crew assignments, coordinating plant cleaning, training and flex leave requests in a safe and efficient manner.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High School Diploma

    + 4 to 6 years operation, maintenance, or engineering experience in a generating unit.

    + Ability to obtain 1st Class Montana Boiler License with in 1 year.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + 1st Class Montana Boiler License

    + 10 years operation, maintenance or engineering experience in fossil generating units.
