Each day, you'll play a key role in keeping our plant running at its best, maintaining everything from balers and conveyor belts to gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. As a Plant Maintenance Mechanic, you'll jump into action when systems fail, using your skills to quickly identify and fix issues, ensuring everything is back up and running safely and efficiently. You'll work with cutting-edge equipment and tackle challenges that require both expertise and determination. Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, you'll help drive the success of our operations, ensuring the plant runs smoothly and safely at all times.
Here’s more of what you’ll do:
+ Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM) and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components, including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders, and building equipment.
+ Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog.
+ Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
+ Inspect the quality of third-party repairs and rebuilds.
+ Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality.
+ Multitask and manage multiple priorities with efficiency.
+ Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
+ Perform work with limited supervision while maintaining high standards of performance.
+ Be flexible with your work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to meet operational needs.
+ Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and ensure all work is completed according to safety procedures.
+ Perform repairs in line with Waste Management Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA requirements.

+ 2 years of relevant work experience
+ Be over 18 years of age.

The expected base pay range for this on-site position is $22. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
I. Job Summary
The Plant Maintenance Technician Assistant works under direct and performs limited preventive maintenance assignments, completes minor repairs and assists in major repairs.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Performs repairs in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA. (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements.
+ Performs minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Ensures all plant equipment is functioning properly.
+ Assist Technicians in the adjustments, repair or replacement of all fixed and rolling stock equipment including but not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, machine shafts, rollers, and bearings.
+ Performs other maintenance and project related work as required.
+ Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
+ Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to support operating schedule and the needs of the facility.
