    JOB SPECIFICS

    The IT Applications and Database Manager drives innovative solutions and guides complex projects where analysis and strategic thinking are essential. This role requires knowledge of county objectives, current trends in technology, and expertise in business systems analysis. This includes application development, database management, and software quality assurance to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable business applications to stakeholders.

    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

    HOURS / DAYS : 8 hours/day, 5 days/week with at least 4 days in office. Occasional after hours and weekend support. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.

     

    ANTICIPATED HIRING RATE : $105,851.20 - $144,601.60 Annually

    JOB SUMMARY

    The IT Manager provides specialized leadership and technical direction to a division of the County IT function. Exercises approval authority over IT policies and procedures. Research and prepare policies and procedures. Works as part of a team to develop IT goals and/or technology strategies with input from staff and technology users.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Oversee the day-to-day operations and administrations of a division of the countywide information technology function.

    + Evaluate countywide IT systems, services and policies.

    + Research trends and best practices.

    + Identify short and long-range investments to meet needed service levels.

    + Provide input on architecture plans to optimize system compatibility within budget.

    + Monitor and use industry trend information to improve investment longevity.

    + Monitor shared services to maintain effective linkages.

    + Recommend changes to systems and policies that improve service, security and reliability.

    + Participate in preparation of the annual written plan.

    + Recommend division and department goals and objectives.

    + Ensure data security compliance with Federal, State and Local laws, regulations and ordinances.

    + Review division and departmental standard operating procedures for efficiency.

    + Participate in the preparation and management of the division budget.

    + Assess existing and anticipated service and staffing needs.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work will involve remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time, although the incumbent will need to move about inside the office to access files or equipment from time to time and may occasionally need to travel to other sites to perform work or interact with other professionals. The ability to operate and interact with computers or other office equipment, via keyboard, mouse, touch screen, or other Human Interface Device (HID) is required. The incumbent will be exposed to noise and a regular flow of people around an office environment, assigned to changing priorities and occasionally required to work outside of typical business hours to meet project deadlines, or be available on an on-call basis for special projects or to provide support.
