Position Overview:

Henry Ford Health Jacksonis seeking an experiencedpart-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)to join our Level III NICU as areplacement position. This role is100% inpatientand dedicated exclusively to the care ofneonatal patients. The position requires an expected20 hours per weekwith avariable schedule, primarilyday shifts (10 hours), though shifts may vary and will includeweekends and holidays.

The Neonatal NP will be responsible for comprehensive inpatient neonatal care, includingadmissions, daily rounding, delivery room attendance, discharges, transfers, resuscitation, and stabilization. Procedural responsibilities includeendotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical line placement, initial ventilator management, X-ray interpretation, and needle aspiration of pneumothorax. The role also includes participation instaff mentoring and education, supporting high-quality, team-based neonatal care.

Qualified candidates must beNCC-certified Neonatal Nurse PractitionerswithBLS certification. This position isnot open to new graduates. Applicants must have aminimum of two years of experience in a Level III NICU, includingdelivery room experience, and demonstrate strong clinical competence in neonatal critical care. Experience with independent decision-making, procedures, and collaborative practice within a multidisciplinary NICU team is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Neonatal NP seeking a focused inpatient role within a supportive and high-acuity neonatal environment at Henry Ford Health Jackson.

Procedures– Intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical lines, initial ventilator management, Xray interpretation, needle aspiration of pneumothorax.

Schedule– Variable schedule. Expected hours per week = 20.

Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Performs nursing functions independently. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires Master¿s Degree in Nursing; licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse; BCLS certification; and certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field, National Certification Corporation (NCC), National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates, and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

Qualifications:

• NP Neonatal Certified in the State of Michigan

• NCC Certified NNP (Neonatal Nurse Practitioner)

Licensure and Certification

• NRP

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.

• DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a level III NICU

• Delivery Room experience, required.

• EPIC Experience, preferred.

• NRP (instructor preferred)

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
