The Network Architect II is a senior-level professional with the responsibilities of designing and supporting all LAN/WAN routing and switching network architecture, policies, applications, systems, and hardware utilized by Woodforest National Bank. Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to researching, designing, implementing, and administering network technology solutions. This position reports directly to the Network Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of existing network infrastructure systems and processes alignment to best practices and environmental needs; develops and implements improvement, replacement, augmentation, and optimization strategies as appropriate.
• Define design and implementation strategies for network technologies and work with teams to ensure delivery of design according to implementation strategy. Responsible for ensuring delivery in partnership with leadership.
• Work with management, vendors, and IT staff to identify networking components, configuration, and software to improve the network to meet anticipated needs in all business areas.
• Test, evaluates risks, and performs cost-benefit and return on investment analyses on new hardware and software options; proposes and documents justification of the most viable solutions to aid management in making implementation and purchasing decisions.
• Work to develop network device configuration standards, policies, and procedures.
Competencies Required:
• Advanced technical knowledge of networking methodologies, design principles, and best practices with advanced proficiency in CISCO platforms for both datacenters and branch locations.
• Knowledgeable of Cisco VXLAN and Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (formerly Cisco DCNM).
• Flexibility to provide support during weekend and evening hours as needed.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
• Developed analytical skills with strong attention to detail and concern for data accuracy.
• Strong organizational, process and project management skills with the ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Developed leadership and relationship management skills; ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and achieve results through the effort of others.
• Advanced planning and organizational skills, with an ability to establish a strategic direction and subsequently develop and manage supporting initiatives.

• Advanced verbal communication and technical writing skills with an ability to effectively interact with and convey information to people who possess varying levels of understanding on applicable topics.
• Strong overall business acumen with an ability to understand the direction, priorities, and goals of the organization.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in network engineering required combined with knowledge of Cisco VXLAN and Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (formerly Cisco DCNM)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in network architecture and design required.
Formal Education & Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related field preferred.
• CCNP required.
• CCDP preferred.
Work Status:
• Full-time, regular.
Supervisory Responsibility:
• None.
Travel:
• Less than 10% travel expected.
Working Conditions:
• Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting, walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and may involve frequent lifting and carrying of PCs, monitors, or phone equipment in addition to articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
