The Opportunity
Director of Government Relations
UCHealth, Anschutz Medical Campus, Aurora, CO
Pay: $159,348 - $254,96 annually. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
The Director of Government Relations is responsible for developing and executing strategies to advance government relations priorities, aligning messaging with policy objectives, legislative timelines, and UCHealth's best outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of Government Relations plays a key role in the health system's strategic and operational efforts by:
Responsibilities:
+ Develop and implement persuasive communication strategies for policymakers, regulators, and external stakeholders, including creating briefs, talking points, op-eds, and board materials.
+ Monitor political, legislative, and regulatory developments to proactively shape narratives, manage emerging issues, and advise internal stakeholders on communication strategies in anticipation of future legislative actions.
+ Establish and maintain relationships with key media contacts, including political reporters, policy journalists, and trade press, to ensure accurate and favorable coverage of organizational priorities.
+ Develop and execute strategies to leverage leadership visibility for strengthening relationships with influential media personalities and enhancing organizational influence.
Candidate Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
+ Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in government communications, public affairs, or a related discipline.
+ Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes at all levels of government.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
+ Proven track record of building effective relationships.
+ Ability to analyze complex policy issues and develop actionable strategies.
+ Strong organizational and project management skills.
+ High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
