Under the supervision of a Custodial Supervisor, this role is responsible for cleaning assigned areas including patient rooms, nursing stations, exam and procedure rooms, conference rooms, offices, hallways, corridors, and public spaces. Duties include operating housekeeping equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, floor machines, shampoo machines, and wall and window washing equipment. Responsibilities also include sweeping, stripping, and waxing floors; performing isolation room cleaning; completing high and low dusting; and cleaning vertical and horizontal surfaces using approved cleaning solutions.

Candidates should have working knowledge of the proper use and storage of disinfectants, cleaning solutions, soaps, detergents, and floor waxes.

Qualifications

* Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when working with and directing coworkers.

* Ability to interact effectively with patients, customers, and colleagues while demonstrating strong customer service and teamwork.

* Ability to operate a variety of housekeeping equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, auto scrubbers, and pressure or steam cleaning equipment.

* Ability to effectively perform and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

* Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate clearly in English.

* Demonstrated initiative with the ability to follow tasks through to completion.

* Ability to work efficiently within defined time constraints.

* Strong listening, verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Physical requirements include the ability to frequently:

* Bend at the waist while standing.

* Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.

* Stoop and squat.

* Twist and bend the neck forward and backward.

* Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time.
