Description
Join Amazon's Alexa Shopping (Ashop) team as a Finance Manager and drive financial strategy for one of Amazon's most unique Alexa domains. In this role, you'll provide critical financial guidance and support through sophisticated reporting, strategic goal setting, and downstream impact monitoring. You'll partner with business leaders to identify the right metrics for emerging experiences and ensure that innovations drive meaningful economic outcomes. Key job responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Modeling
- Collect, analyze and manage quantitative data to create meaningful analyses and build financial models that drive business decisions.
- Partner with the Alexa org. to improve Downstream Impact (DSI) modeling and reporting for the Alexa Shopping organization.
- Lead economic modeling initiatives through partnership with central Alexa, including EV&O/DSI, cDev, and Missions models
Business Partnership
- Partnering with PM team on new product launches to calculate ROI and opportunity sizing
- Partner with business and finance counterparts to identify the right metrics for the emerging customer experience to ensure improvements are driving economic outcomes.
Planning & Forecasting
- Support forecasting efforts of operating expenses, headcount, and resource allocation.
- Partner with business teams to enable success in the annual Goals process.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Create, improve, and maintain reports for key financial and operational metrics.
- Analyze monthly financial and business metrics, report on key trends vs. plan, peel back layers to understand underlying drivers of financial performance.
- Perform month-end close related activities.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including implementation of best practices.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) OR Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
