Job Title: Systems EngineerJob Description
The focus of this role is to support unmanned, manned, and optionally piloted aircraft platforms and unmanned ground vehicles. The successful candidate will be involved in all project phases from definition, design, to testing. They will develop requirements, create system design documentation, utilize existing analytical models, develop new models, and plan and conduct tests to validate requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze customer and stakeholder requirements, decompose requirements, derive requirements, and allocate them to system and subsystem elements.
+ Develop system architecture for new and existing systems.
+ Conduct trade studies and perform design research to determine optimal requirements and system architecture.
+ Develop test plans and reports.
+ Create test cases based on requirements documentation.
+ Develop system and subsystem interface definitions, system schematics, and system design documentation.
+ Lead and conduct testing as applicable.
+ Work in adherence to structured and defined development processes.
+ Collaborate with the Software Engineering Team to develop software system requirements and test requirements.
+ Participate in planning, design, testing, and deployment of complex engineered systems and software to ensure conformance with functional specifications.
Essential Skills
+ 5 - 7 years of industry experience, or 3-5 years if located in Round Rock, Oklahoma City, or Sacramento.
+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
+ U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher, or the ability to obtain such clearance.
+ Experience in developing system requirements and architecture.
+ Strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills.
+ Technical leadership capabilities.
+ Experience in Defense and/or Aerospace industry.
+ Experience in Aircraft is essential; experience in unmanned aircraft is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Self-directed with a results-oriented mindset.
+ Sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
+ Experience with software and subsystem integration, aircraft electrical systems, and operational test execution.
Work Environment
The position may require 25-50% travel, depending on location, with minimal travel for those at testing sites like OKC and Tehachapi. Candidates can work out of various locations, including Round Rock, Sacramento, Tehachapi, Crane, Oxford Michigan, Jupiter FL, Baltimore, MD, or Huntsville. In Sacramento, there is a SCIF facility as well as a traditional facility. Candidates in Dallas need strong software and hardware test experience to support embedded development teams. The work environment is dynamic and may involve exposure to schematics and operational test execution.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $95.00/hr.
