We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Field Representative to conduct field visits and evaluate construction work on multidiscipline projects, such as pump stations, water treatment plants, and wastewater treatment plants. This role involves coordinating and overseeing material testing, monitoring construction schedules, and ensuring compliance with contract documents.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct field visits to job sites to observe and evaluate construction work.
+ Coordinate and oversee material testing on soil, concrete, bituminous, and aggregate materials.
+ Monitor construction schedules and activities for compliance with contract documents.
+ Provide preliminary approval of payment estimates prepared by contractors.
+ Produce thorough, accurate, and concise quantities, daily reports, and other related documents.
+ Organize and process project records.
+ Monitor the site safety of personnel.
+ Ensure all equipment and materials comply with shop drawings and specifications.
+ Assist Project Managers in the preparation of Requests for Quotations, Change Orders, and Requests for Information.
+ Process project records on computers, including material generated by others.
+ Observe and document individual equipment startups for compliance with contract documents.
+ Make decisions based on previous experience when appropriate.
+ Attend and facilitate preconstruction and progress review meetings.
+ Communicate effectively and respectfully with staff, contractors, clients, and the public.
Essential Skills
+ 10+ years of experience as a Field Representative, Construction Inspector, Construction Observer, or Site Engineer.
+ 5+ years of experience on Water and Wastewater projects or similar.
+ Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications.
+ Strong report writing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Degree in Civil Engineering or similar is a bonus.
+ 10+ years of experience is a bonus.
+ EIT or PE certification is a bonus.
Work Environment
The role primarily requires fieldwork in the Metro Detroit area, with work hours typically from Monday to Friday, 8-10 hour days, and occasionally Saturdays if projects are behind schedule. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
