Job Title: GIS Analyst
Job Description
The GIS Analyst will support the Operation Services department, which plays a crucial role in supporting construction projects. This position involves using GIS technology to complete engineering designs and cost estimates for various main and service work. Responsibilities include collecting construction activity 'as-built' data, creating permanent asset records, editing map features, and performing final quality checks on GIS versioned data. The analyst will also represent Engineering in internal and external project meetings and conduct field visits as necessary.
Responsibilities
+ Complete engineering designs and cost estimates using GIS for all types of main and service work.
+ Collect construction activity 'as-built' data using a mobile CPS collection device for creating permanent asset records.
+ Edit map features and their correlating attribute data in the GIS.
+ Perform final quality checks on GIS versioned data before it is posted to the GIS.
+ Represent Engineering at internal and external project meetings as required.
+ Conduct field visits to job sites to determine requirements for service and main work.
+ Perform a preliminary review of development plans and interface with customers.
+ Implement and train Engineering staff on new work processes for the GIS mapping system.
+ Distribute and update maps for other departments as requested.
+ Distribute and approve requests for the acquisition and release of easements, as well as the vacation of rights-of-way.
+ Perform pipeline safety compliance-related GIS analysis as directed.
+ Carry out all other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in ArcGIS and CAD.
+ Ability to interpret construction and as-built drawings.
+ Experience in cost forecasting and drafting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Education in geography or a related field.
+ Experience with engineering designs and cost estimates.
Work Environment
The role is based in a professional engineering office, initially requiring attendance five days per week. After training, the schedule shifts to three days in-office per week. The work can be performed in both office and field settings, with potential exposure to the elements. Standard working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, with possible overtime and travel requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
