Job Title: Engineering Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team based in Richardson, Texas. This on-site role focuses on the design, development, and lifecycle support of hardware and software products used in professional electronics applications. The role combines people leadership with hands-on technical involvement and requires close collaboration with manufacturing and operations.

Responsibilities

+ Lead, mentor, and manage engineers across hardware, firmware, and software disciplines.

+ Drive product development from concept, architecture, and design through validation and production.

+ Review schematics, PCB layouts, embedded firmware, and system-level designs.

+ Coordinate schedules, priorities, and risk management across various projects.

+ Collaborate with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams.

+ Support manufacturing, troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, and product revisions.

+ Establish and improve development processes, standards, and documentation.

+ Manage external engineering partners or contractors as needed.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.

+ 7+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineers or projects.

+ Strong experience in embedded systems, electronics, or product development.

+ Experience bringing products from prototype through mass production.

+ Ability to review and guide schematic, PCB, and firmware/software work.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 5+ years of experience in commercial electronics.

+ Experience with HDMI, USB, Ethernet, EDID, and video/audio signal processing.

+ Familiarity with Android, Linux, and Windows-based systems.

+ Advanced understanding of Ethernet/Networking/Cloud Services.

+ Manufacturing experience including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and overseas contract manufacturing.

+ Experience managing external engineering resources.

Work Environment

This role is based in Richardson, Texas, within a small company of 20 employees. You will lead a 6-person engineering team, consisting of hardware, software, and support staff. The work environment is dynamic, and you will be expected to wear multiple hats. It is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with high-profile clients and collaborating with major industry players.e

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Richardson, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $175000.00 - $225000.00/yr.
