Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in manually filling prescriptions, replenishing medications for automated dispensing stations, packaging medications, and stocking packages. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient distribution of medications to retail pharmacies.
Responsibilities
+ Manually fill prescriptions and package medications for distribution.
+ Replenish medications for automated dispensing stations.
+ Maintain pharmacy systems and technology, including inventory systems and automated medication counting machines.
+ Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates for pharmaceuticals.
+ Calibrate machines and apply settings to minimize breakage.
+ Troubleshoot pill cell issues throughout production.
+ Sort, place, and store freight in appropriate locations.
+ Restock and replenish medication, ensuring stock rotation on a first-in, first-out basis.
+ Perform inventory cycle counts and assist with physical counts for inventories.
+ Create reports using inventory information systems.
+ Monitor prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals.
+ Enter and modify pharmaceutical data on systems and forms.
+ Process and submit paperwork and maintain documentation and communications.
+ Identify and resolve discrepancies in records or files.
+ Prepare reports of pharmacy activities and inventory.
+ Inform management about incorrect or inefficient processes and improper service procedures.
+ Ensure fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill pharmacy.
+ Use a scanner to identify and select pharmaceutical products and quantities for prescription orders.
+ Verify the size and strength of products before processing orders.
+ Enter expiration dates and lot numbers.
+ Label prescriptions and weigh medication for accuracy of quantity.
+ Prepare packages and distribute medications in a fast-paced production environment.
+ Replenish automated counting machines.
Essential Skills
+ Pharmacy Technician License
+ Pharmacy Technician Certification
+ Registered Pharmacy Technician in Indiana
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
+ PTCB certification
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
+ Holds an active/valid national certification certificate issued by PTCB or NHA (ExCPT).
+ Retail or warehouse experience preferred.
+ Prior experience in a central fill, pill-pak, specialty/mail order production pharmacy/shipping department preferred.
+ Ability to move, lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Work Environment
This is a newer facility with heavy automation practices, focused on preparing and packaging prescriptions for retail pharmacies to dispense to the patient. It is a fast-paced production environment requiring a high level of attention to detail. There is no customer service at this location, only Registered Pharmacy Technicians, Shipping, and Receiving. No vaccine administration or point-of-care testing is involved.
The facility operates on a schedule of four 10-hour days, with shifts available from 5:45 AM to 4:15 PM and 4 PM to 2:30 AM. Most second shifts will include a Sunday and Friday. The facility is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.50/hr.
