    Job Title: Welder** **Job Description

    A large distributor of valves is seeking an experienced welder to join their team. This role involves welding, fitting, and general fabrication of valves and pipes, with valve sizes ranging from small to massive 42,000-pound valves. MIG and TIG welding techniques will be used, and the ability to read blueprints, engineered drawings, and WPS is essential.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform MIG and TIG welding on various sizes of valves and pipes.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, engineered drawings, and WPS.

    + Fit and fabricate workpieces independently.

    + Inspect welds through RT/PT/VT and occasional bend tests.

    + Assist in the modification shop with tasks such as drain valve installations, gear op installations, and welded drain valve subassemblies.

    Essential Skills

    + 8+ years of experience in pipe welding and fitting.

    + Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, and blueprint reading.

    + Experience in general assembly, fitting, and fabrication.

    + Knowledge of gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) for carbon and stainless steel.

    + Familiarity with 6G and 1G rollout, flux core welding (FCAW).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience working on larger valves.

    + Extensive experience in valve assembly.

    Work Environment

    The work takes place in a 200,000 sq ft shop that is spotless and well-organized. The facility is air-conditioned, with most of the space dedicated to warehousing and staging, while a portion is reserved for modification and fabrication. The facility undergoes annual quality audits as an API facility. Welders work in a small modification shop alongside fabricators, assemblers, machinists, and management. The position operates on a 1st shift from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with potential for overtime depending on business needs. Employees are provided with all necessary tools and are expected to wear steel-toed boots, jeans, and a work shirt.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Missouri City, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
