GTB serves TDS clients, who are the largest and most sophisticated within the bank and possess a comprehensive and complex set of business needs. Transaction Banking is a technology-powered product set that is deeply ingrained into the financial and operating systems of clients.
GTB partners closely with other TDS groups across Corporate & Investment Banking as well as Global Markets, serving all industry coverage areas.

GTB Financial Institutions ("FIs") provides Canadian payment clearing and settlement services to financial institutions globally who fall within our strategy and risk appetite. As an integral team member in FI coverage, you will have responsibility for managing product profitability, provide exceptional client servicing, act as first line of defence for risk and internal compliance, as well as support a broader TDS wide client relationship management mandate. Effective and impactful FI coverage means delivering a one-TD experience to our FI clients and prospects, developing cross-franchise partnerships. Internally within TDS, one-TD means working in close collaboration with partners in Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange and TD's Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) to achieve strategic outcomes.
Job Scope
The Vice President will report to a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions division in Global Transaction Banking. He/she will be dealing primarily with Financial Institutions clients in the Latin America and Caribbean region. Accountabilities for the Vice President role includes (but not limited to):
+ Financial Institutions Sales and Relationship Management for targeted clients and markets.
+ Meet and exceed revenue targets set out for the Americas region.
+ Broaden client coverage to include Central Banks and Sovereign Wealth Funds clients aligned to agreed bank strategy.
+ Good understanding of core trade finance products (LC, SBLC, Trade Loans) and ability to negotiate deals.
+ General understanding of wholesale banking products and synergy between different desks across Global Markets, and how they complement with GTB.
+ Deepen existing client relationships to ensure additional touch points at all appropriate levels.
+ Cross-sell product offerings to core Financial Institution relationships across TD Securities.
+ Prepare business analytic materials for existing clients/new business opportunities, working with the global Financial Institutions team (including business performance).
+ Prepare new presentation materials, relationship matrix templates, pricing review exercise for core Tier 1 Financial Institution clients in the region.
+ Market research for key markets in the region, including competitor analysis.
+ Track and manage key referral deals to other business product partners.
+ Perform KYC due diligence calling and support both TD and client KYC/AML requests for Financial Institution clients in the region.
+ Exposure to a wide variety of Global Transaction Banking products which includes Core Trade and Working Capital, and Financial Institution Correspondent Banking.
+ In-depth understanding of the following Global Transaction Banking business will be as asset, in particular: Canadian Treasury and Commercial Payments, Continuous Linked Settlement, Deposit accounts.
+ Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time.
Job Requirements
+ Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish. Portuguese is an asset, but not mandatory.
+ Strong business acumen and client Relationship Management skills.
+ Possess a team-oriented attitude and a high EQ.
+ Has strong inter-personal and communication skills.
+ Has keen interest to develop client relationships and grow franchise collaboration.
+ Experience and/or knowledge of Global Transaction Banking Businesses.
+ Good understanding of core trade finance products (LC, SBLC, Trade Loans).
+ Knowledge of the technology and operations involved in wire payments, paper clearing and the Canadian Payments settlement system more broadly is an asset.
+ Prior experience in a Financial Institution coverage role with relevant product knowledge will be advantageous.
+ Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and commitment.
+ Effective organizational skills and flexibility for adapting to changing priorities.
+ Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments.
+ Strong work ethic and commitment to business goals and high professional standards.
+ Sound knowledge of MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Access/PowerPoint).
+ Industry experience and accreditations (CFA, CTP, etc.) are highly desirable.
Depth & Scope:
+ Works closely with senior leaders in articulating the strategic vision for the business to define GTB's customer value proposition and corresponding product offering suite, setting us up to compete effectively against the established global financial institutions (FIs).
+ Stays up to date with the rapidly evolving payments and receivables market offerings including Fintech, Partners/Vendors and FIs. Understands changes across the payment landscape, from regional low value (ACH) to high value (Fedwire, CHIPS) and cross-border (SWIFT) payments, and other payment innovations (real-time payments, FedNow, ISO), uses this knowledge to identify where we can leverage solutions to creatively address a Corporate client's treasury needs.
+ Have a good understanding of the regulatory and compliance landscape across North America, and able to break down complicated legal concepts to bring treasury solutions to our clients.
+ Be the 'Voice of the Customer' by working with our clients to understand their needs and staying up to date on the latest changes in the treasury industry. Able to assess any potential impact on corporate treasury processes, and direct / influence how TD builds technology and processes to meet evolving expectations.
+ Partners with the origination team to advise and support corporate treasury clients on their unique needs by bringing deep subject matter expertise in the cash management and payments space.
+ Provides internal and client facing thought leadership in cash management and treasury innovations across the global industry, and producing relevant materials to support the origination team
+ Be an innovative product owner that adopts new ways of working to help our clients solve their complex challenges or improve our operating efficiency (e.g. streamlining businesses processes or adopting new tools and technology).
+ Develops eminence that fosters value-add conversations with our stakeholders (internal and external) and represents GTB at industry forums (e.g. AFP, SWIFT and the Fed).
+ Takes ownership and accountability for all related products and platforms, maintaining a client-first mindset that ensures all aspects of product development & strategy (e.g. design, delivery, client onboarding, etc.) are frictionless.
+ Works with senior leaders across the organization to identify new opportunities and directly or indirectly manages the activities for multiple functions across the enterprise (e.g. project management, risk and compliance, legal, technology, operations, etc.).
+ May mentor and develop junior members.
Education & Experience:
+ Undergraduate degree required
+ 10+ years relevant work experience
+ Recent role in cash management, payments or treasury
+ Experience with banking or payments/regulatory organizations, eg Federal Reserve
+ Strong leadership, persuasion, presentation and communication skills
+ Proactive, positive attitude with an insatiable desire to learn
+ Results oriented and comfortable dealing with ambiguous or uncertain situations
+ Capable of managing sophisticated relationships and recognizing broader opportunities that may involve more than one business or operating unit
+ Ability to perform detailed analysis and see the bigger picture, using empirical data to inform decision-making

+ Experience in the following is considered a strong asset:
+ Client facing role in investment / corporate banking or comparable
+ Hands-on delivery experience at a financial institution, or technology equivalent
+ Demonstrable delivery credentials – prior experience on large-scale change initiatives
+ Wholesale banking or payment industry experience with knowledge of: SWIFT, ISO, XML, APIs and regulatory insight
+ Familiarity with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Kyriba, G-Treasury, SAP etc.
+ Working in a scrum/agile environment
+ Ability to travel 15% to 35% of the time
