    Department Summary

    The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives.     Position Summary

    The Senior Sports Dietitian is responsible for the leadership and development of UO Sports Nutrition. Primary objectives include the development of processes and procedures, mentorship of staff, innovation of systems, and setting the standard for service within the sports nutrition department. Responsibilities also include individual student athlete assessment and nutrition consultation, team education, planning and execution of fueling strategies, and documentation and reporting of student athlete progress for assigned teams. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and distributing product at fueling stations and various athletics facilities as needed.

    Special Conditions of Employment:

    Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain and maintain a University of Oregon Driver's Certification.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Master's degree in dietetics/nutrition or related field.

    • Five years post-graduate experience with three years of experience providing performance nutrition support to collegiate, professional, or elite level athletes.

    • Must obtain CSSD, RD, or an alternate nutrition certification to practice within the state of Oregon within 3 months of start date.

    • Adept with technology and data management.

    • Ability to communicate effectively.

    • Ability to translate science into practical food advice.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Credential of board-certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) or equivalent additional training in sports nutrition.

    • History of mentorship of nutrition staff.
