THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Food Service Workers play a key role in meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness throughout food preparation and serving areas. Duties include thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and other related items. Additionally, you will be responsible for assembling meal trays, accurately measuring portions, serving food, and delivering trays and nourishment to designated areas. This position also involves operating a variety of kitchen equipment, including mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and high standards of food service.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 8.0 hours per day, 40 hours per week
+ Work hours are 2nd shift (12:00 PM to 8:30 PM), rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirement:
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualification (not required):
+ Willingness and ability to work in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania
+ Willing and able to work a 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM shift, with rotating days and weekends to be determined
+ Food service experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital, restaurant, or other food service operation
+ Work experience interacting with patients, residents, or customers while serving food/cleaning in patient/resident rooms or a dining room setting
+ Work experience with food safety and sanitation in a dietary department
Legal Requirements:
+ A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
+ This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
+ Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
