Job Description
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Cost Accountant/Analyst to join our Plant Controlling team. In this role, you will act as a key business partner to plant management and operations, delivering financial insights that drive efficiency, profitability, and informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in cost accounting and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment, along with hands-on experience using SAP—particularly the CO (Controlling) and FI (Financial Accounting) modules.
Responsibilities
+ Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for production costs.
+ Analyze and report manufacturing variances, including material, labor, overhead, and purchase price differences.
+ Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods; assist with the annual standard cost roll-up process.
+ Prepare, analyze, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance reports and KPIs.
+ Develop and maintain financial models to track and forecast plant performance, operational spending, and capital expenditures.
+ Provide clear commentary on financial results, explaining variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
+ Play a key role in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes; collaborate with department heads to develop budgets and spending forecasts.
+ Monitor spending versus budget and partner with managers to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
+ Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle count programs; analyze inventory levels and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
+ Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reserve calculations; reconcile inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger and process adjustments.
+ Address ad-hoc production and inventory-related issues promptly.
+ Utilize SAP CO-PC (Product Costing), CO-PA (Profitability Analysis), and FI modules for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
+ Maintain master data integrity in SAP, including cost centers, profit centers, and material masters.
+ Act as a financial partner to plant leadership, providing ad-hoc analysis and decision support.
+ Evaluate capital expenditure requests (CapEx) by calculating ROI, payback period, and NPV.
+ Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing explanations as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
+ 3+ years of experience in a financial analyst or cost accounting role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
+ Proficient hands-on experience with SAP FI and CO modules.
+ Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas, and data modeling.
+ Strong PowerPoint skills.
+ Experience with BW and Hyperion.
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SAP Analytics Cloud is highly preferred.
+ Experience with automation tools such as VBA, Catalytic, Alteryx, Analysis for Office, Python is desirable.
Work Environment
The role requires onsite work Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed during peak periods such as month-end and year-end.1-

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $53.00/hr.
