Senior Buyer
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer responsible for the creation and management of purchase orders to meet revenue and inventory goals. This role involves maintaining open purchase orders, following up with suppliers, and coordinating with the manufacturing team to ensure material availability.
Responsibilities:
+ Create and manage purchase orders to achieve revenue and inventory targets.
+ Proactively maintain all open purchase orders, including due dates, quantities, and costs.
+ Follow up with suppliers regarding past due purchase orders or unacknowledged orders.
+ Collaborate with the manufacturing team to understand material requirements and ensure timely availability.
+ Reschedule unnecessary purchase orders to prevent excess inventory.
+ Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineering and Process Engineering to resolve supplier quality issues.
+ Request RMA numbers, process returns in Oracle, and package items as necessary.
Essential Skills:
+ Experience in purchasing, procurement, and supply chain management.
+ Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Oracle.
+ Strong understanding of lean manufacturing tools.
+ 5-10 years of purchasing experience.
+ 5-10 years of manufacturing/operations experience, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume plant.
+ Familiarity with Kanban, Min/Max, Buy to Order, Consignment, Vendor Managed Inventory, Blankets, MRP, and Last Time Buy.
+ Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related fields is preferred but not required.
+ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
+ Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
+ Capable of working under pressure and articulating solutions clearly.
+ Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate and support colleagues.
Work Environment:
This role is based on-site and requires availability to work Monday through Friday during standard hours. The work environment is team-oriented, with significant collaboration with planning, scheduling, and occasional interaction with engineering and production teams. The team atmosphere is supportive, inviting, and encourages self-starters who are proactive in seeking answers and suggesting process improvements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $43.27/hr.
