    Job Description

    We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for procuring raw materials, managing inventory, and establishing effective supplier relationships. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management and the ability to work closely with suppliers and internal teams.

    Responsibilities

    + Utilize MRP logic and forecasts for procurement of raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items.

    + Manage inventory to maximize turnover while avoiding stock-outs.

    + Oversee Purchase Orders from issuance to closure, resolving blocked invoices and discrepancies, and identifying when expedited shipment is needed.

    + Provide recurring and regular forecasts to suppliers.

    + Assist with selection and qualification of suppliers based on commercial and technical capabilities.

    + Establish effective supplier relationships to mitigate risks in the supply chain.

    + Collaborate with Commodity/Purchasing Managers to enhance the supply chain and assist with the selection and qualification of new suppliers.

    + Support management in completing supplier audits and scorecards.

    + Ensure suppliers adhere to defined requirements as per Supplier Expectations.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management preferred.

    + 3+ years of purchasing experience or extensive internship with direct buying responsibility.

    + Experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment is beneficial.

    + Proficiency in negotiating pricing and managing purchase orders.

    + Experience with supply chain management, SAP, and ERP systems.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Good computer skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities.

    + Knowledge of MRP/SAP is a plus.

    + Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation skills.

    + APICS certification is beneficial.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $40.86/hr.
