Child and Family Counselor - Family After School Program

Amazing opportunity to join Riverside’s Family After-School Program as a Child & Family Counselor!

Riverside’s Family After-School Program provides a structured, therapeutic after-school environment for children ages 6–12 in the Cambridge and Somerville communities who have experienced challenges such as neglect, homelessness, and trauma. The program offers clinically intensive, trauma-informed services that help children build coping skills, self-expression, and healthy peer relationships, while actively engaging families through regular events and collaboration.

In this vital role, you will:

+ Plan, organize, and lead therapeutic groups and daily activities that promote social-emotional growth and skill-building.

+ Ensure children are safe, supported, and appropriately supervised at all times.

+ Implement behavior management strategies and participate in crisis intervention when needed.

+ Partner with clinical case managers on individual treatment plans and goal implementation.

+ Assist with transportation by driving and/or monitoring children as they arrive at and depart from the program using your personal vehicle or our program's transportation vehicle

    Schedule: Part Time, 16 hours/week

This program is open during the following hours:

    + Summer: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

    + School Year: Monday through Friday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

    Pay Rate: $20.60/hourly
