    Special Education Teacher (Early Childhood) – Calumet City, IL

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support Pre-K students. This role is ideal for an educator who values collaboration, early intervention, and creating meaningful learning experiences for young learners with diverse needs.

     

    About the Role Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher will provide high-quality instructional services to early childhood students. This position requires active participation in planning and implementing individualized student programs, offering specialized instruction, providing tutorial support, and consulting with general education staff to ensure student success.

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred

    + Valid Illinois teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations

    + Illinois Professional Educator License with the Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) and Early Childhood endorsements required

    + One year of teaching experience preferred

    + Preferred certifications: Standard Elementary, Standard Secondary, or Standard Special Teaching

    + Compliance with all professional standards of practice

    + Current CPR certification, if applicable

    + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable

    + Current health certificate per state or contract requirements

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
