Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time correctional facility assignment in Fort Dodge, IA. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a structured, fast-paced environment and are committed to providing high-quality care to an underserved population.
Pay
+ Local Candidates: $58/hour
+ Travel Package: $2,600/week
+ Must live 50+ miles from the facility to qualify
Responsibilities
+ Provide direct nursing care within a correctional setting
+ Conduct assessments and administer medications
+ Respond to medical emergencies
+ Collaborate with onsite medical and security staff
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Requirements
+ Active Iowa RN license or compact license
+ Current BLS certification
+ Minimum 1 year of RN experience (corrections experience preferred)
+ Ability to work every other weekend
+ Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills

The Correctional RN works in collaboration with otherhealthcare professionals, correctional officers, and administrators to ensurethe well-being of the incarcerated population. The Correctional RN utilizes their knowledge to address the specificchallenges and limitations of the correctional environment while providing careto their patient population. This careincludes both routine and emergency health care in a correctional facilitysetting.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which thenurse practices
+ Minimum of one year of correctional health care experiencepreferred
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
