Our client is currently seeking a qualified **Senior DevOps Consultant - Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering** to join their team in a **remote** role.

This consultant will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure and platform engineering solutions. This is a high-impact consulting role that requires deep expertise in Azure cloud services, Databricks platform administration, containerization technologies, and modern DevOps practices. You'll serve as the technical authority for infrastructure automation, security, and scalability across multiple client engagements, while driving the adoption of cloud-native architectures and best practices within diverse enterprise environments.

Duties and Responsibilities** **:

Infrastructure Architecture & Design

+ **Cloud Strategy Development** : Design comprehensive cloud infrastructure strategies and migration roadmaps for enterprise clients

+ **Platform Engineering** : Architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective platform solutions using Azure services and Databricks

+ **Infrastructure Automation** : Implement Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform, ensuring consistent and repeatable deployments

+ **Container Strategy** : Design containerization strategies, implement Kubernetes clusters, and establish container security and governance policies

+ **Network Architecture** : Design secure network topologies, implement connectivity solutions, and ensure optimal performance and compliance

DevOps Implementation & Optimization

+ **CI/CD Pipeline Engineering** : Build sophisticated GitHub Actions workflows and Azure DevOps pipelines supporting complex deployment scenarios

+ **Release Management** : Implement advanced deployment strategies including blue-green, canary, and rolling deployments

+ **Environment Management** : Design and maintain development, staging, and production environment provisioning and management

+ **Quality Assurance** : Integrate automated testing, security scanning, and compliance checking into CI/CD pipelines

+ **Performance Monitoring** : Implement comprehensive observability solutions with metrics, logging, distributed tracing, and alerting

Security & Compliance Leadership

+ **Identity Integration** : Design and implement enterprise SSO solutions, integrating with existing identity providers and ensuring seamless user experiences

+ **Security Automation** : Implement security-first practices including automated vulnerability scanning, compliance monitoring, and incident response

+ **Access Management** : Design role-based access control systems, implement least-privilege principles, and maintain security audit trails

Consulting & Knowledge Transfer

+ **Technical Leadership** : Serve as the primary technical advisor for DevOps and infrastructure decisions across client engagements

+ **Team Mentorship** : Guide and mentor client teams on DevOps best practices, cloud-native development, and platform engineering

+ **Documentation & Standards** : Create comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and establish engineering standards and best practices

+ **Training Development** : Design and deliver training programs on Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern DevOps practices

+ **Innovation Drive** : Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and practices that can benefit client infrastructure and operations

Platform Administration & Optimization

+ **Databricks Management** : Administer Databricks platforms including workspace management, cluster optimization, cost management, and integration with data sources

+ **Cost Optimization** : Implement cloud cost management strategies, resource optimization, and financial governance practices

+ **Capacity Planning** : Design and implement auto-scaling solutions, capacity planning, and resource management strategies

+ **Backup & Recovery** : Implement comprehensive backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions

+ **Vendor & Tool Management** : Evaluate, integrate, and manage third-party tools and services that enhance platform capabilities

Skills and Qualifications** **:

Cloud Infrastructure Expertise

+ **8+ years of DevOps/Infrastructure experience** with 4+ years in senior consulting or lead roles

+ **Azure Cloud Mastery** : Expert-level proficiency in Azure services including App Services, Container Instances, AKS, Azure Functions, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, and Virtual Networks

+ **Databricks Platform Administration** : Hands-on experience managing Databricks workspaces, clusters, security, networking, and integration with Azure services

+ **Infrastructure as Code** : Advanced proficiency with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale

+ **Container Orchestration** : Deep experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and container security best practices

+ **CI/CD Pipeline Engineering** : Extensive hands-on experience building and maintaining GitHub Actions workflows, Azure Pipelines, and multi-stage deployment strategies

Security & Identity Management

+ **Single Sign-On (SSO)** : Expertise in implementing and managing SSO solutions using Azure Active Directory, SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect

+ **Identity & Access Management** : Experience with Azure AD, Conditional Access policies, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and role-based access control (RBAC)

+ **Security Compliance** : Knowledge of enterprise security frameworks, network security groups, Azure Security Center, and vulnerability management

+ **Secrets Management** : Proficiency with Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault, and secrets rotation strategies

+ **Certificate Management** : Experience with SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management and automated certificate provisioning

Automation & Infrastructure Provisioning

+ **Infrastructure Provisioning** : Advanced experience with Terraform modules, state management, and infrastructure drift detection

**Wage Range** :

The rate for this position is between **$60.00 - $88.00 per hour.** Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
