Join Our Team as a Rehabilitation Aide
Schedule: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. | One weekend every 4 weeks | Two holidays per year
Are you passionate about helping others and interested in a career in healthcare? We're looking for a dedicated Rehabilitation Aide to support our therapy team and contribute to exceptional patient care.
Position Overview
As a Rehabilitation Aide, you'll work under the direct supervision of licensed clinical staff-including Occupational Therapists (OT), Physical Therapists (PT), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), and their assistants (PTA, COTA)-to assist with both clinical and clerical responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, compassionate, and eager to make a difference.
Previous patient care experience is a plus but not required. We provide training!
• Key Responsibilities
+ Assist with patient transfers, setup, and transportation in a safe and courteous manner.
+ Support therapy sessions by preparing treatment areas and applying modalities as directed.
+ Perform clerical duties such as scheduling, registration, filing charges, and maintaining logs.
+ Maintain inventory of medical supplies and linen; ensure cleanliness of equipment and workspaces.
+ Escort patients to treatment areas and communicate effectively with clinical staff.
+ Answer department phone calls professionally and assist with inquiries.
+ Help orient and mentor new aides and therapy volunteers.
+ Ensure patient safety and comfort during and after therapy sessions.

+ Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Experience: Previous experience as a therapy technician or nursing assistant is preferred but not required.
+ Skills & Abilities:
+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
+ Strong organizational and planning skills.
+ Ability to adapt to changing needs and tolerate stressful situations.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to read and understand medical record documentation.
+ Demonstrated ability to apply logical thinking to clinical situations, such as recognizing vital signs or symptoms that require therapist attention.
+ Awareness of age-related differences in patient care.
+ Commitment to providing quality customer service and maintaining patient dignity and respect.
+ Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with a diverse population, including patients, healthcare team members, and leadership.
+ Must adhere to all UPMC and CRS policies and procedures.
+ Completion of all mandatory competencies, including system, business unit, facility, and department-specific orientations.
• Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within 30 days of hire (must meet AHA standards including both didactic and skills demonstration).
+ Act 31 - Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal)
+ Act 33 - Pennsylvania Criminal History Clearance (with renewal)
+ Act 34 - Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance (with renewal)
+ Act 73 - FBI Fingerprint Clearance (with renewal)
