What you'll be doing
The Risk, Insights, Strategy and Controls (RISC) Manager will partner with first line of defense teams to enable effective risk management through consistency, adoption of leading practice, and promotion of operational efficiencies. This position will also assist with the development and enhancement of internal controls, sourcing and evaluating data to drive a more objective approach to risk measurement and mitigation, and centralized services on behalf of the US lines of business.

What you'll be doing
The role supports the Head of US Governance & Controls with the following core accountabilities:
+ **Risk Assessment:** Work closely with line of business (LOB) partners to drive a more data-informed and objective assessment of risk. Draft model language to be applied for operational and regulatory risk assessments, and facilitate data collection and evaluation.
+ **Issue/Incident Reporting and Remediation:** Assess all new deficiencies and evaluate broader implications and lessons learned that can be used to drive holistic and strategic remediation across all impacted lines of business.
+ **Risk Insights, Metrics and Reporting:** Evaluate metrics across lines of business, and identify opportunities for alignment and consistency. Integrate risk metrics into other program metrics to inform management of emerging risks and control vulnerabilities.
+ **Controls:** Assess and drive opportunities to create centralized and/or standardized controls applying the Process/Risk/Cause/Control methodology. Facilitate end-to-end process mapping to draw out controls embedded throughout the process, and work to uplift automated and preventative controls.
+ **Incident Management:** coordinate incident management across four lines of business by interviewing team members impacted or involved, preparing incident management reporting, working to enhance processes and controls to avoid future instances, and manage adherence to the 2LoD incident management process.
+ Participate in special projects as needed.
Who you are
+ You have at least 7-10 years of experience in compliance, operational risk, or audit; preference for experience within a regulated financial services organization.
+ You possess a Bachelor’s degree.
+ You show strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex issues concisely and communicate effectively and comfortably with senior leadership
+ You portray solid relationship building and stakeholder management skills
+ You have the ability to execute tasks under aggressive targets and effectively manage to change in plan
+ You exhibit strong initiative, energy and confidence completing projects with limited supervision
_At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of_ **$115,000 - $135,000K** _for the virtual Illinois market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
