Position Overview:
As a Senior HRBP at Galen College of Nursing, you will serve as a strategic, mission-driven advisor to campus and regionalleadership, championing Galen College of Nursing’s values and culture ofexcellence. Lead initiatives in organizational effectiveness, talent mobility,engagement, and inclusion that directly support Galen’s growth and studentsuccess. Partner with HR, IT, and Learning & Organizational Development(L&OD) to deliver data-driven insights, equitable career progression, andworld-class employee experience. Operate effectively within Galen’s sharedservices model, balancing enterprise-wide consistency with responsiveness tocampus-specific needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as a consultative partner to campus and regional leaders onorganizational design, workforce planning, change management, and cultureinitiatives.
2. Apply business insight and data to anticipate needs, identify risks, andrecommend proactive HR solutions.
3. Lead quarterly internal mobility reviews, support succession planning, andpartner with leaders to ensure equitable promotion and career progressionacross all departments.
4. Provide counsel on employee relations matters, including performanceconcerns, conflict resolutions, and policy application. Support leaders innavigating difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy. Coachleaders on performance management, accountability, and communication.
5. Partner with leaders to anticipate faculty and staff workforce needs, addressshortages, and support long term talent pipelines.
6. Drive faculty and staff engagement through programs such as “Building theLamp” and culture architecture initiatives. Translate engagement surveyresults into actionable plans and measure impact. Collaborate with HRleaders to design and implement retention strategies for critical roles.
7. Leverage HRIS, applicant tracking, and reporting tools to deliver workforceanalytics, equity dashboards, and customized reports to senior leadership.Use data and trends to inform recommendations and decisions.
8. Support role clarity and career pathing, addressing ambiguity and scopecreep, and ensuring every team member understands their growthopportunities.
9. Partner with HR Business Partners and HR specialists to ensure effectiveonboarding, documentation, and compliance.
10. Coordinate across HR functions to deliver seamless HR services whilemaintaining local context and relationships. Operate effectively withinGalen’s shared services model, balancing enterprise-wide consistency withresponsiveness to campus-specific needs.
11. Lead process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives thatenhance both student and employee experience. Actively participate in HRinitiatives related to policy updates, systems implementation, processimprovement, or institutional priorities.
Position Requirements:
+ Seven to nine years of progressive HR experience supporting leaders in acomplex, multi-campus organization.
+ Experience in higher education or healthcare environments stronglypreferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through collaboration rather thandirect authority.
+ Proven track record in talent mobility, succession planning, and equitablepromotion practices.
+ Experience leading engagement, retention, and inclusion initiatives, includingaction planning from survey insights.
+ Strong background in process standardization, continuous improvement, andcompliance.
+ Ability to manage ambiguity, support role clarity, and facilitate career pathingin dynamic environments.
+ Experience working in shared services or matrixed organizational structures.
+ Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and by phone.
+ Travel to regional campuses required; position requires minimum of 50%travel.
