The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a fellowship trained surgeon to join our Spine Surgery Division. This position includes primary responsibilities in Rochester with potential outreach opportunities in our regional practice. The position will include clinical and surgical responsibilities for spine surgical patients. This individual must have experience/qualifications to take spine call at a tertiary referral Level 1 trauma center and be skilled in the multidisciplinary care of spinal disease.
A strong commitment to integrated clinical research and orthopedic education is expected. The position is 1.0 FTE clinical/surgical into which the candidate is expected to build a clinical research and education footprint. The individual will serve as faculty to residents and spine fellows in ACGME accredited programs with additional teaching opportunities in the affiliated medical school and with trainees in other departments. Protected time for research and education can be earned as the clinical practice matures, while the primary focus is establishing a differentiated, destination surgical practice.
Qualifications
Must be board-certified/board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery with fellowship training in spine surgery and eligible for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota. Candidates should also have outstanding clinical and teaching skills, and experience in basic, clinical or translational research.

Compensation Detail
The minimum starting salary range for surgical specialties may range from $279,000 to $814,000. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate may vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
