Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Project Engineer to join our Advanced Aircraft Engineering team. This role focuses on Prototype Aircraft and Special Projects, leading the development of cutting-edge aircraft through all design phases, from conceptualization to flight testing.
Responsibilities
+ Lead teams of engineers to design and execute prototype aircraft and special projects aligning with program objectives.
+ Coordinate across functional teams including Structural Design, Loads Development, Structural Analysis, System Integration, Materials and Processes, Manufacturing, Tooling, System Development, and Test.
+ Develop requirements, internal statements of work, and project estimates for projects of varying scopes.
+ Manage technical support for airframe structure suppliers, including statements of work and technical data packages.
+ Facilitate design for manufacturing and assembly processes.
+ Oversee the transition of designs to manufacturing, ensuring smooth integration.
+ Develop tactical execution plans aligned with program schedules and budgets.
+ Manage project scope, risks, budget, and technical challenges.
+ Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
+ Provide technical presentations and documentation as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Technical project management with full life cycle experience, including Concept and Design, Manufacturing, and Flight Test.
+ Manufacturing project management to support suppliers and manufacturing coordination.
+ Strong project management skills, including budget and schedule management.
+ Experience in aerospace engineering, composite manufacturing, and composite engineering.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 4 - 10 years of experience in Project Engineering, Project Management, or Technical Program Management in a Defense, Space, or innovative Aerospace environment.
+ Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution with relevant progressive engineering experience.
+ Hands-on experience with composite structures, including design, stress analysis, materials/process development, or manufacturing.
+ Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in an evolving environment.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The work environment is an office space accommodating about 250 employees, providing a moderate to smaller company culture with large company stability, funding, and long-term contract awards. The organization values a flat hierarchy where engineering and manufacturing teams collaborate closely, encouraging innovation and the contribution of new perspectives.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Victorville, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
